This is an invitation to go into the actual felt experience of the body, its energy, its intelligence, and its capacity to heal.
In Embodied Yin we find our organic movement patterns, our energetic web, the rivers of growth and expansion already running through us. Some of it is held āsana. Some of it is free movement, Qigong, stillness. All of it is held with Maitri — loving kindness, toward yourself first.
These practices move energy through the meridians, restore fluid flow, and let the nervous system genuinely settle. This round we take that deeper: you’ll also get hands on Gua Sha and Moxabustion as direct, practical expressions of that same meridian intelligence, tools to use on yourself, and to carry forward in how you teach.
Why DEPTH, why now
We live in relentlessly Yang times — go, produce, deliver, do, do, do. Yin, and the genuine rebalancing of Yin-Yang, is what lets us stop, reset, and return to ourselves before we act again.
DEPTH is built around that rebalancing. You’ll deepen your own practice in somatic and embodied yoga — Embodied Yin at the center — while developing the skill, clarity, and authentic presence to hold that space for others.
The philosophical ground
DEPTH is rooted in living philosophical frameworks that have mapped the body-mind for thousands of years.
The Three Treasures — Jing, Qi, and Shen — form the foundational model of how life force is held, moved, and expressed through us. Jing: our essential substance, our deep reserves, what we inherit and what we protect. Qi: the vital energy that animates, circulates, and connects. Shen: the spirit that illuminates, perceives, and relates. Understanding these three and how they interweave changes and supports how you feel yourself in practice, and in life, and how you hold others in sessions.
The Five Spirits — Shen, Hun, Po, Zhi, and Yi — are the five expressions of consciousness housed in the organ systems of Chinese Medicine. Together they describe the full landscape of how we think, feel, dream, grieve, will, and remember. The Five Spirits offer one of the most nuanced maps we have for the relationship between body and psyche, and they run through everything in DEPTH: how we understand yin postures and their organ correspondences, how we read the nervous system, how we design practices that genuinely meet people where they are.
These frameworks are not background material. They are the spine of the week, the lens through which Embodied Yin, Somatic Nidra, Gua Sha, and Moxabustion all come into focus as one coherent body of knowledge rather than separate tools.
What’s inside
Traditional and classical Chinese Medicine, Embodied Yin, nondual Somatics and Somatic Nidra form the structure of the training, rooted throughout in Three Treasures and Five Spirits philosophy. Gua Sha and Moxabustion run through some of the TCM sessions as the hands-on, embodied edge of what you’re studying, making the practice even more tangible.
Across the five days you’ll move through:
Asana (Embodied Yin)
Somatics and free movement
Props and assists
Embodied and experiential anatomy
Three Treasures theory and practice
Five Spirits — Shen, Hun, Po, Zhi, Yi
Somatic Nidra methodology
Breath
Sound
Meditation
Chinese medicine and Taoism
Gua Sha · Moxabustion
This is a genuinely out-of-the-box training. You’ll feel what you study, and study what you’re already feeling.
There will be homework and book recommendations for after counting for about 10h.
Gua Sha & Moxabustion — why they’re here
They’re what happens when the meridian theory you’ve been absorbing through Embodied Yin, Three Treasures, and the Five Spirits becomes something you can actually do with your hands.
Gua Sha is a tool for moving stagnation. Moxabustion uses heat and moxa to warm and nourish the meridians, restore flow, and support the body’s own regulatory capacity. Together they extend the vocabulary of this training into the practical and somatic at once, tools you’ll use on yourself (and others) during the week, and tools you’ll be equipped to bring to your own students and clients.
