Reform Flow
Reformer Pilates Foundations Teacher Training · 50 hours
Reform Flow is a somatic reformer education. It gives you a solid technical and embodied base to teach reformer Pilates with confidence: safe, well-sequenced and somatic classes for the everyday studio client. It also teaches you to understand the machine through your own body first.
Most reformer trainings teach the choreography and then the cues. We work the other way around. You learn how springs, straps and carriage shape sensation, load and support. Then you learn to see that in other bodies and put it into clear, precise and somatic language. The result is a teacher who can lead a strong, recognisable reformer class, and who knows how and why each exercise works and how to adapt it for the person on the machine.
How we learn
The five foundation days follow a spiral rather than a straight line. Each part of the repertoire is visited three times: first as a mover, then as an observer, then as the teacher. At the heart of the training is cueing from seeing: learning to read what is actually happening in the body in front of you, and letting your cues respond to that rather than to a script. Day one opens with a full class taught to you, so you experience this in your own body before you break the exercises down yourself. On the sixth day, each participant teaches a full reformer class to the group. Groups are capped at five, so everyone gets hands-on time on the reformer and direct feedback every day.
What you'll learn
The core principles of contemporary Pilates: breath, pelvic and ribcage placement, scapular stability, and head and neck alignment. These are taught as felt experience, embodied and not as a checklist.
